This time last year, pretty much to the day, my family and I embarked on our 31-day road trip up and down the West Coast of the United States. As many of you already know, I love the United States and I consider California (particularly the Laurel Canyon neighbourhood of Los Angeles) as my spiritual homeland. I have spent the past couple of days reminiscing about this time last year and, combined with “Blue” (Joni Mitchell) being named by NPR as the Number 1 Album Made by Women, I thought that these words from “California” were a no-brainer for today’s Words.
“But my heart cried out for you
Oh California I’m coming home
Oh make me feel good rock ‘n’ roll band
I’m your biggest fan
California I’m coming home”
[Every Wednesday, I write a Facebook post called “Words on Wednesday” where I share a line or two of lyrics that mean something to me and which I like. This post has been taken from today’s “Words on Wednesday”.]
